Ingrid Zammit Young’s letter to the Prime Minister

The Nationalist Party has issued a statement saying that the Justice Minister’s decision to make Zammit Young a magistrate – which was approved by his fellow ministers and the Prime Minister – was “irresponsible, illegal, abusive” and “in breach of the Constitution”, and that the government would have gone ahead had the Opposition not kicked up a fuss about it. It said that the Prime Minister should have withdrawn Zammit Young’s name before she did so herself, and that this matter confirms how dangerous the government is.
