Ordinarily, Muscat would have been practically wrapped around his mate Konrad and sharing in the victory, both of them basking in the mutual reflected glory. Now he is nowhere to be seen and resolutely off-camera. This was last night, when the news of his surprising and unexpected election was surprisingly and unexpectedly announced to the waiting press.
Notice, too, how there are no hangers-on crowding in to the shot and standing closely around and behind him for the shared limelight of association with power.
