Given that there is nothing untoward in the complex and costly wealth management structure devised by the Mizzi family, we can all rest easy. Thank goodness for that.

Now, I assume we will soon receive full disclosure of all the contracts entered into by this government related to the sale of State-owned assets, fuel procurement and other critical supply agreements, identifying all persons involved with the negotiations on both sides of the bargaining table, together with their respective brokers, middlemen, and lobbyists, if any.

Of course, it would be nice to find out whether there were any declarations of conflict by any members of the cabinet in connection with those discussions, but that may be too much to ask.

Likewise, now that there is about to be a changing of the guard at Malta’s new consulate in Shanghai, perhaps the NAO and/or the European Commission will have a quick look to ensure that the systems and protocols for issuing Schengen visas and employment licences out of that new office are fully compliant with EU laws, with sufficient checks and balances in place to deter and detect any funny business. I’m sure they will find everything is squeaky clean.
