Konrad Mizzi was accompanied on the Gozo ferry by Leonard Manicaro
One of the men with Health & Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi on the ferry to Gozo this morning is Leonard Manicaro (pictured). He was a labourer at the Malta Freeport, but when the Labour Party got in to government in March 2013 and turned the public sector into a trough, Manicaro was made a ‘co-ordinator’ at the Health Department on around €40,000 a year when he is barely literate.
Manicaro, who is Konrad Mizzi’s canvasser in Paola and a Labour Party official, was then installed in the Minister’s private secretariat when Mizzi became Health Minister. He has a three-person unit within the ministry whose sole objective is to further Mizzi’s interests in the health sector. The Minister is using public funds to further his personal, political agenda.
