Go to TVM right now and watch Konrad Mizzi lying his head off

The Minister for Health and Energy is on Dissett with Reno Bugeja right now, on TVM, lying his head off. He’s even calling his Panama company a “trust fund” – and in the same breath saying it has no money in it.

Right this minute he’s said: “My main adversary is Simon Busuttil and I’m waiting for him to repeat outside Parliament what his said in Parliament.”

What a black farce this is. Meanwhile, here I am, writing more than the Opposition leader ever said in Parliament or out, and yet the very same Konrad Mizzi who filed a police report against me, had me prosecuted and filed a parallel civil suit against me for saying that he had an affair with his communications coordinator Lindsay Gambin, is now studiously ignoring me and hoping I will go away.

He’s not sure exactly how much I know, and he’s not taking the risk – which is possibly his only sane move in this fiasco of corruption.

Oh, and so far, Reno Bugeja’s questions are pretty challenging given the context. But hang on – he’s recorded a clip interview about trusts with, of all people, RAMONA FRENDO – who played such a big part in the Labour Party’s gimmicky electoral campaign. And the focus is on TRUSTS and not on companies in Panama.

Unbelievable – get a grip or I’m going to have to call this show a whitewash. Ramona Frendo – for heaven’s sake. And did she really just say “haraha”, or was I hearing things?

Ramona Frendo is not a specialist in financial law. And beyond that, she played a key part in the Labour Party’s general election campaign. She is entirely the wrong person, both professionally and politically, to ask about what Konrad Mizzi has done and is doing. She is in no position to answer.

Now Reno Bugeja, acting deceitfully, has aired a clip interview with Frank Psaila of the Nationalist Party. Or perhaps “clipped interview” would be more apt a description. Psaila was made out to have claimed that the Nationalist Party had the information on Konrad Mizzi and that rather than waiting for the strategically opportune moment to release it, did the responsible thing and released it now.

I went ballistic when I heard that and rang Psaila’s office. “How dare you & c & c. What were you thinking of & c & c. Are you seriously trying to take the credit for my story & c & c.”

Frank Psaila rang back within minutes. Of course he hadn’t tried to take credit for the story. Of course he never said the Nationalist Party had the information. Reno Bugeja had asked him a hypothetical question about a hypothetical scenario and then edited the question out, leaving just the answer and making it look as though Psaila was talking about this particular story and not generally.

If I had any professional respect left for Reno Bugeja, that last shred of it is now gone, never to return.
