Joseph Muscat and Il-Palazz ta’ John Dalli

John Dalli has constructed a whacking great compound with underground bunker in an Outside Development Zone near Girgenti. The compound is called L-Ghorfa. You may have read about it already on this website, but given the rubbish the government is talking about ‘Il-Palazz ta’ Beppe Fenech Adami’ (can they be any more pathetic?) I thought I would refresh your memory.

Dalli applied for full development permission for his compound – euphemistically called “a farmhouse” – near Girgenti in February 2014.The Labour government granted him permission three months later, in May.

Given that much of the development took place before Dalli applied, and that he had previously been slapped with an enforcement notice, the permit Joseph Muscat’s government gave him is actually not a permit at all so much as a retrospective sanction.
