The Justice Minister’s girlfriend is upset because her scoop had no impact

Let’s start off here. This is Malta, weird bubble-land, so it is considered entirely normal that a woman who is sleeping with a member of the government should join in the government’s attempts at intimidating the Opposition by wearing her guise of ‘journalist’ with the party-owned media.

Once we have got that behind us, let’s turn to her disappointment yesterday morning when her big scoop involving drones and the home of the deputy Opposition leader failed to make the front pages, except for the Labour lap-dog media.

Janice Bartolo is so far sunk in propaganda, and so keen on retaining her position as mistress of the Justice Minister, that she has lost any sense of perspective she might have had. No, Janice, the home owned by the deputy Opposition leader is not as newsworthy as the secret companies set up in Panama by the Health and Energy Minister (who has refused to publish all the contracts in which he has been involved) and the Prime Minister’s chief of staff.

And your attempt at pushing this in the public’s faces to protect your boyfriend’s government now looks worse than ridiculous. It looks corrupt and despicable. The Justice Minister’s mistress flying a drone over the deputy Opposition leader’s house and then turning it into a Big Scandal for the party-owned media while posing as a newscaster?
