Franco Debono wants to step into Louis Galea shoes

Lots of people were so focused on the President of the Law Reform Commission’s language that they missed the significance of what preceded the expletive: “they should have sent me”.

It was the day after Toni Abela’s rejection at the European Parliament. And it seems Franco Debono would have liked to replace Louis Galea at the European Court of Auditors, seeing as how the only reason Galea is there in the first place is because Franco Debono unseated him in the election to the Maltese parliament in 2008. Galea was then nominated by the Maltese government in January 2010 for membership of the European Court of Auditors and has been there ever since.
