The Labour Party tries to hide the reason for Albert Fenech’s resignation from parliament
The perennially popular Albert Fenech has resigned his seat on the Opposition benches. In his resignation letter to the Opposition leader, the renowned cardiologist makes clear his views about the government in general, and the way it made his situation impossible by forcing him out of the state hospital, obliging him to take up another position – with Vitalis, the operator that will be privatising the hospitals – so as to maintain his professional skills.
Yet the Labour media, led by the Prime Minister’s aide Glenn Bedingfield, have sought to spin this as Albert Fenech having “chosen investment” over “Simon Busuttil’s negativity”.
They have made sure that their supporters, many of whom cannot read or understand English, get no access to Fenech’s resignation letter, in which he writes:
