Mrs Muscat uses MTA funding to bring NY stylist to Malta to promote Mary Grace Pisani

The Prime Minister’s wife, Michelle Muscat, used her influence on her friend Edward Zammit Lewis, Minister of Tourism, to have the Malta Tourism Authority pay for two visits to Malta by New York-based fashion stylist and blogger Lauren Rae Levy, the sole purpose of which was to cover Mary Grace Pisani’s fashion creations.

Mrs Pisani, who gives Mrs Muscat free dresses for special occasions, is with Mrs Muscat at the centre of a swirl of scandal involving the exploitation of prisoners who are made to sew for Mrs Pisani without receiving payment. Mrs Pisani obtained access to prison labour for her private business through her friendship with the Prime Minister’s wife.

Lauren Rae Levy stayed at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard at the expense of the Malta government and was hosted regularly at Villa Francia along with Mary Grace Pisani. Mrs Pisani’s dresses were modelled and photographed there (see below).
