The Prime Minister is off to Jordan today – accompanied by Axe Man Chris Cardona

What busy lives they lead. We had to get the information about our own prime minister from a Jordanian news portal. Then he’s off to Lebanon to sell Maltese passports on Wednesday – and we discovered that, too, from the Henley & Partners website.

Then the government’s Department of Information issued a press release early this morning saying that he is accompanied by Axe Man Chris Cardona, in his secondary role as Minister for the Economy.

The press release was accompanied by the late night/pre-dawn photograph shown below, in which we can see that the Prime Minister’s very important delegation includes Malta Developers Association president Sandro Chetcuti – who is definitely not going to secure a meeting with Jordan’s head of government and get given a large tract of Jordan for free, claiming that he is going to build a Maltese University of Jordan on it. Jesmond Mugliett is with them too. His stint as Minister of Public Works under the Nationalist government was marked by a tornado of corruption accusations on the building of the Regional Road bridge and tunnel – accusations levelled at him by Muscat’s own people at the Labour Party.

I don’t wish to sound prejudiced or anything – just factual – but I suppose Baksheesh Territory is the most appropriate destination to visit on a sales trip accompanied by Maltese operators, a few days after the world discovers that your government is so open to business that its lead members have set up secret companies in Panama to take the baksheesh.
