Corrupt accountant Brian Tonna set up ‘projects’ company in January

On 27 January last, corrupt accountant Brian Tonna – the man at the epicentre of Malta’s Panama Papers and related scandals – incorporated a company called Nexia BT Projects Ltd. This time it is registered in Malta, under company number C74121, and with a registered address at Nexia BT’s offices at the Capital Business Centre in San Gwann.

The directors are Manuel Castagna of Tarxien, Karl Cini of Zejtun, and Brian Tonna of Marsascala, the three partners of Nexia BT, all of whom are also legal and judicial representatives of the new company. Brian Tonna is the company secretary. The company auditor is not listed.

All the shares bar one Class B share, which is held by Tonna personally, are held by Nexia BT Holdings Ltd (company registration number C55138), which was incorporated on 27 January 2012. The directors of Nexia BT Holdings Ltd are Castagna, Cini and Tonna – but in this case, all the shares are held by Nexia BT. Nexia BT is not a limited liability company, but a firm registered under AB/26/84/61.

Brian Tonna is the sole legal and judicial representative of Nexia BT Holdings and also the company secretary. The auditor is one Pierre Fiorentino of Siggiewi.
