Independent MP Marlene Farrugia has asked the Speaker to form a parliamentary committee to investigate the offshore and other illicit activities of the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri.
She has asked that it be led by the Opposition and made up of three Labour MPs and four Nationalist MPs. The reasons why it cannot be Labour-led will be obvious.
Farrugia said that Schembri should be summoned before this committee and quizzed about his activities, and that others should be summoned to testify as necessary.
She has also brought before the House a motion for a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister’s right-hand man.
