So Muscat is going to appeal, hoping it will drag on for another two years

The Courts of Justice have ruled that the Nationalist Party is to be given another two seats in parliament to make up for “errors” made in the vote-counting process at the last general election.

But both the government and the Labour Party have given notice of appeal, hoping it will drag on for another two years. It makes no difference to them whether the Opposition has another two seats or not. Their majority is so much larger. But it is not in Muscat’s nature to do anything without spite and malice.

Now will somebody confirm this or set me straight on it, because the last thing I want to do right now is listen to Muscat’s speech in parliament on Wednesday night all over again. If I remember correctly, at one point in his tsunami of cocky insults and bar-room taunts, he said that the Opposition leader is the sort of person who, when the Court rules “tomorrow” against him on the matter of the two seats, won’t accept the Court’s decision and will appeal.

My memory might be playing tricks because I was working while listening to him and might have been distracted.
