Here’s some official Italian government footage of Muscat visiting the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence with the Italian prime minister, accompanied by Malta’s ambassador to Italy, Vanessa Frazier.
That Renzi comes across as truly insufferable. I cannot bear that sort of pontificating Mediterranean man who loves the sound of his own voice and treats others as an audience. He’s a walking, talking caricature.
I don’t know how the Maltese ambassador, in her red dress, could stand to laugh and flirt as though they are wonderful, stuck between two such self-regarding and idiotic pieces of work. It’s so undignified of a woman to accommodate men like that and encourage their bad jokes and poor attempts at being smart, this side of the Mad Men era.
