Oh good grief, now it’s that barfly, talking about bird-seed

The Minister for the Economy – who about now will be aching for the Stable or Hugo’s Lounge – just rose to speak, and his opening words are about the Opposition leader, skalora (bird-seed) and some book he stumbled upon fortuitously, called The Seeds of Bitterness. If he were in the House of Commons, somebody would have catcalled already that he should just go and get drunk with a lap-dancer or some random woman in blue eye-shadow.
I can’t believe the nerve of this man, talking about il-palazz ta’ Fenech Adami. Doesn’t he have a large villa with a swimming-pool in Madliena, too? Of course he does. It’s in his declaration of assets. But he’s cheesed off, because his wife lives there while he’s forced to borrow flats from businessmen friends.
