The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Commissioner has told Canadian newspaper The Globe & Mail that the RCMP are actively working on obtaining the Panama Papers documentation in its entirety, as part of a criminal investigation into income-tax evasion and money laundering by Canadians with assets in offshore tax havens.
Faced with the dawning realisation that the problem wasn’t going away and that he would have to do the same himself, the Malta Police Commissioner first took extended leave of absence from work, and then resigned. He has since been replaced by a football fan with the mental age of a teenager and the IQ of one of Manuel Mallia’s chauffeurs.
