This is the sort of “news reporting” that created anti-EU sentiment among the English

You wouldn’t believe it, but the British press are still at it. You’d think at this stage that they will have understood the damage they’ve done, but no. Now they want to justify – if the face of all evidence to the contrary – their consistently Eurosceptical stance maintained over years, and their pro-Leave position in the referendum campaign.

The Guardian and The Independent are left fighting a lonely battle in a sea of media lies and contempt that has caused me to lose all respect for The Telegraph, The Times and even The Spectator, Boris Johnson’s stomping ground.

This headline is incredible, but it is exactly the sort of thing we have seen for years. No wonder the English, who eat these things up, have remained so completely and utterly ignorant about the European Union. For that is the word: ignorant. A conversation with even some supposedly articulate English people of middle age and older will reveal that they know next to nothing about the European Union and are capable only of regurgitating this kind of rubbish in very convinced tones.

It’s disgraceful. They are proud to be ignorant. Any other educated person in Europe would be embarrassed.
