The Prime Minister, in his capacity as Labour leader, yesterday called for an end to his party’s “tribal us and them mentality”.
Nobody suspects that he means it. And it is particularly unfortunate that he said what he did to mark the election, as his deputy leader, of Chris Cardona, a sordid barfly with a part-time job as Economy Minister, who famously said that he and the party will use an axe to go after anybody who “comes after us with a dagger”.
