As relations between Malta and Montenegro – one of the world’s most corrupt states – intensify, that country’s ‘Minister for Science’ flew in last night.

Sanja Vlahovic arrived with a woman friend on the Air Malta flight from Vienna at 9pm yesterday, and was chauffeured off the runway, her car followed closely by a Malta army Landrover.

She was then driven to the Hotel Excelsior, where Maltese army officers entered ahead of her and made arrangements for Vlahovic to be whisked through. The mini-commotion did not escape the notice of people in the lobby bar.

Malta’s Minister for the Economy, Chris Cardona, has probably scheduled several bilateral meetings.
