The results of the first round of the Conservative Party leadership election are out. Since then Liam Fox, who got just 16 votes, has been eliminated, and Stephen Crabb, who was second from last, has pulled out.
Now Michael Gove has announced that he has no intention of dropping out – even though Theresa May (a Remain campaigner) polled 165 votes and he polled just 48. It is clear from what he said that he intends to force out fellow Brexiteer Andrea Leadsom (66 votes) and take on May himself.
