Kenneth Xuereb, one of the journalists who was at the airport last Wednesday, waiting for the Prime Minister to leave the airport after his arrival from Singapore (with Konrad Mizzi, Keith Schembri and Kurt Farrugia), has posted a comment on this website describing exactly what happened. The video to which he refers can be seen below.

I’d like to add a few further points to supplement this footage. We journalists were at our post and unmolested outside the VIP lounge parking lot (right next to the police station) for a good 10-15 minutes.

It was only when Muscat’s plane landed and taxied to the apron that the police approached and ordered us to leave.

Also, it was Konrad Mizzi who was in the BMW and not Muscat. Muscat was in the Alfa together with his usual police escort.

The police moved us further down the road and the delegation split up. Konrad Mizzi and Kurt Farrugia left by the normal exit so that Jospeh Muscat and Keith Schembri could give us the slip and not get footage of them leaving via the crash gate that opens directly to Hal Far Road.
