The Malta Independent publishes Viber messages between Libyan middleman and Neville Gafa

This morning The Malta Independent has published screenshots of Viber messages in which Neville Gafa, a corrupt ‘person of trust’ who was installed in the private secretariats led by Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi after the March 2013 general election (he was previously a sales assistant at a Valletta optician’s), is chased for the return of backhanders paid for visas.

The Malta Independent has published the story in the wake of news reports yesterday that the police have “found no evidence of any crime” in their investigation of Gafa’s activities.

This is a new development: in the Panama Papers fall-out, they were too scared or reluctant to investigate. Now they pretend to investigate but find ‘no evidence’.
