The Prime Minister said to journalists today that he can’t see any conflict of interest in companies owned by his chief of staff selling machinery to Crane Currency.
“They are private companies,” he said. (Yes, but one of them is owned by the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, who has just been sitting at a press conference in that role, watching his boss shake on a government deal with one of the customers of his private business.)
“Now if Mr Schembri’s companies were tendering for and getting government business – WHICH THEY DON’T – that would be another matter,” the Prime Minister said.
He lies so breezily, it’s shocking. Click here to see just how shocking it is.
