Hobbies Corner: How your MP relaxes
Labour MP Etienne Grech is rarely at home. He is a very busy man and occasionally writes a Facebook post to tell us all how very busy he is.
But Dr Grech is a man with many hobbies and interests, and this helps him relax on those rare occasions when he walks through his front door for more than a shower and bed.
Very little equipment is required for his most favourite hobby, but it is pricier than a tennis racquet. (Dr Grech likes to impress.) If you think this hobby may relax you, too, and if – like Dr Grech – you have the occasional five minutes to spend at home, all you need is a faux ormolu clock, a glass dome, a crochet doily, a wooden chest, a seascape in a heavy gilt frame, and a wall stripped down to bare stone.
Place the chest against the wall, and put the doily on the chest. Hang the seascape on the wall above the chest. Do this before you put the glass dome in position, because as an Air Malta inflight recording might advice you, the painting may follonit.
Then fit the ormolu clock beneath the glass and position this on the doily (careful!). Then coif your hair, put on a fetching shirt, and strike a 1950s Black & Decker Man pose against it. Hold the pose, and relax.
