Prime Minister’s aide knowingly lies to semi-literate audience

This is the way the Labour Party’s machine has operated as long as I have known it. Knowingly spread lies and misinformation against your perceived enemies and watch your sub-literate, semi-literate and never-bother-to-be-informed audience lap it up and turn it into fact.

Did Salvu Mallia say that the Labour Party and its supporters have the plague? Of course he didn’t. And everybody who can read and understand English, who read the reports in The Malta Independent, the Times of Malta and Malta Today, and even the Maltese-language report on Newsbook, knows he did not.

He said something completely different: that Joseph Muscat has been the worst thing for Malta since the plague of 1813.
