Anglu Farrugia can Ram his ethics lectures up his Tumuluri
Anglu Farrugia, accompanied by Karl Wright, chief of that journalists’ outfit that does nothing for journalists because it’s so keen to suck up to politicians and employees of the party-owned media, addressed the press today with a hectoring lecture on what constitutes journalists’ ethics.
Because, of course, what we journalists really, really need right now is a lecture in ethics from Anglu Farrugia, a politician who, when faced with one of those ethnical decisions that test people at forks in the road of their lives, decided that he would accept a corrupt appointment as Speaker of the House in return for quashing his qualms about business-linked corruption the party which fired him from the post of deputy leader.
And not content with that – because, remember, this is Anglu Farrugia we’re talking about here – he held out for another corrupt appointment for his unremarkable daughter and her pedestrian mind, so that she would not have to fend for herself when left behind alone in the law office where only the two of them worked. Not any old corrupt appointment would do, because he wanted to make sure she was looked after for life, so he wangled an appointment to the bench and she is now a useless magistrate with a state salary, chauffeur and car until she retires in her 60s.
That level of corruption and cronyism was still not enough for Ethical Anglu, who didn’t want that daughter’s husband left off the gravy-train, so he had him put on the state payroll as a library clerk at Parliament House, for the administration of which Farrugia is responsible.
I strongly suggest that the Speaker of the House should take his lectures on ethics and Ram them up his Tumuluri.
