Mummy told him to wear a vest – but he overdid it

I thought you might like to see this photograph of the Maltese prime minister meeting the Irish prime minister in Ireland today.

Ireland, as we all know, is a cold country – so cold that you have to keep your cold-weather gear on at all times, even when meeting a prime minister who’s wearing a suit and tie.

Oh, and didn’t he once own a dark wool overcoat? True, it was black rather than charcoal or navy, but at least it was a proper overcoat. Perhaps Muscat has decided that overcoats are too ‘Establishment’. Shortly before the general election he’ll probably be turning up in a hackneyed Che Guevara T-shirt.
