The government has appointed the spokesman for Malta’s EU Council presidency, which runs from January to June next year: Wendy Borg, who worked in the newsroom at the Labour Party’s television station, (Super) One, from 2006 to 2013.

When the Labour Party won the general election in March that year, it transferred to the state payroll almost all of those who worked for its television and radio stations. Their wages and salaries are now paid by the public purse rather than the party.

Wendy Borg was installed in the Office of the Prime Minister as a communications coordinator, working alongside the likes of Glenn Bedingfield and Rosianne Cutajar.
