Four years of physical and psychological damage: but at least his family assets are looking pretty

Here are two photographs taken while Konrad Mizzi was speaking to the fake news media after chairing that Energy Council meeting in Brussels yesterday. He is 39 and looks 50.

Compare this to what he looked like only four years ago, in that picture from 2013 with Joseph Muscat. The change is dramatic to the point where, if we hadn’t been looking at him on our screens almost every day, and hadn’t seen him since, we wouldn’t be able to recognise him now.

He’s gone completely grey, almost overnight. He’s put on an enormous amount of weight – the sort that you would usually gain in your 40s, a decade later. And his face is a curiously heightened reddish pink colour, all puffy and bloated in a way that has little to do with actual physical weight gain.
