While the Institute of Maltese Journalists quibbles idiotically about whether I’m a journalist or not

International organisations of journalists and press freedom watchdogs took up the matter immediately.

But will it drive home, to the Minister of the Economy, his lawyer, his aides, his government colleagues, his prime minister and other assorted bogans, the gravity of what they have done? Of course not, because they think Baku is normal.

In the report logged with the Council of Europe’s Platform to Promote the Protection of Journalism and the Safety of Journalists, the case of Malta’s Minister for the Economy is categorised as ‘harassment and intimidation of journalists’, and the aggressor is listed as ‘the state’.
