Nobody can accuse the Minister of Janice of twinkling at men rather than women

Ah, this photograph: one of a series in which the Minister of Janice, when introduced to that rare creature – a non-Maltese woman who is smaller than he is and is clearly registered as an opportunity – is caught by the camera looking at her intently and twinkling.

I hope that woman, whoever she is, knew enough to run. At this stage in the game, I am left with the impression that the lot of them, bar a couple of exceptions, spend their time raiding the booty chest as well as the sweet shop.

Now let’s concentrate on the article itself, rather than this very distracting photograph. Owen Bonnici was asked about the Media and Defamation Bill he is piloting through parliament. His attempts at defending it only make it sound worse and beg the fundamental question: why? Registering websites, he says, is being done “for greater journalistic freedom”. He should try to work out how that comes across.
