Read Mario Frendo’s background to the story on Net News includes a description of how the Commissioner of Police was in his office but claiming not to be able to answer questions which he preferred to receive by email (“I don’t think it’s anything urgent, is it?”) and how he introduced himself as “Lorry Cutajar”.

Frendo had turned up at the Police Headquarters with a view to asking the Commissioner why he has failed to take action on the report submitted to his predecessor, who immediately resigned, by the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit.

Meanwhile, I can report that even as the newspapers run with headlines about his failure to act, “Lorry Cutajar” is completely unperturbed and is currently in Milan to watch his favourite football team, Inter, play. A reader caught him in the check-in queue at Malta International Airport early this morning.
