People were aghast yesterday at the Prime Minister’s and Mrs Muscat’s choice of a cheap Rabat tea-shop as a suitable venue for ‘lunch’ – pastizzi and milky tea – for the three European prime ministers they had just accompanied to the Roman Villa Museum nearby.

Their astonishment might abate – or shift in a different direction – when they learn that the cheap tea-shop in question, Crystal Palace aka Is-Serkin, has been acquired by Kenneth Ciangura, brother of Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando’s ‘bodyguard’, chauffeur and factotum, Stephen Ciangura.

Stephen Ciangura is a bombardier on secondment from the army to the Malta Council for Science and Technology, while running his own ‘security services’ business which was registered in his mother’s name. Kenneth Ciangura was a police officer with the Rapid Intervention Unit.
