Health Minister to throw campaign party at Silvio Debono’s hotel on Wednesday

Politicians are very fond of throwing their campaign parties at Silvio Debono’s hotels, particularly the Seabank, less often the San Antonio.

You would think, from the number of them lining up to hold their events there, that he gives them the place and the catering for free or at a huge discount. And that’s because he probably does.

You would also think that in the thick of the current controversy/scandal, a senior minister of the government which gave Silvio Debono all that public land at St George’s Bay would have the good sense to throw his campaign party somewhere else.

But not Chris Fearne, the Health Minister, who is having his at the Seabank Hotel on Wednesday. Given the highly contentious nature of the situation, the press and the Opposition should demand to see the San Antonio Hotel’s invoices for the event, and proof of payment.
