Polish MP writes to European Commission president to protest against his drunkenness

A Polish MP, Krystyna Pawłowicz, has written to the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker (see letter below) to register her concern about his “alcohol dependency”, and to protest against his “particularly distasteful and out of place behaviour” during an audience with Pope Francis to mark the 60th anniversary of the European Community.

“Your demeanour was offensive not only to Pope Francis, but also the present chiefs of states and heads of governments, including women, who were certainly too polite to ask you to take a rest,” she wrote.

Her letter was reported in The Catholic Herald. I have been unable to find reports anywhere of what it is that Juncker actually did, said, or failed to do or say.
