Muscat tries and fails to get picture taken with Berlusconi; PM communications aide Bedingfield reacts

Silvio Berlusconi was in Malta for the European People’s Party meeting this week. His aides let it be known that Prime Minister Muscat’s aides chased them for photo ops with their boss. An election campaign is coming and he needs as many pictures as possible with important personages, so that he can bask in their reflected glory/importance before the long parade of people with no self-respect, who vote for him.

Berlusconi thought otherwise, and was photographed with the Opposition leader instead (the Nationalist Party belongs to the EPP; the Malta Labour Party belongs to the PES, the Party of European Socialists).

Prime Minister Muscat’s communications aide, Glenn Bedingfield, then went on the rampage.
