Cyrus Engerer’s boyfriend says: “Don’t you worry about a thing.”

Here’s another one who appears to have a few loose screws up top. This is Randolph Debattista, a former Super One Man and Labour Party activist who was appointed chef de cabinet (chief of staff) to Marlene Bonnici, Malta’s permanent representative in Brussels, based at Dar Malta.

This is a civil service/diplomatic corps position that was given instead to a party apparatchik as a ‘person of trust’ – so that he could accompany his boyfriend Cyrus Engerer to Brussels. Engerer, despite a serious criminal conviction only a few weeks earlier, with a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence (suspended) confirmed on appeal, had a job created for him as a ‘person of trust’ – as the Prime Minister’s special envoy to Brussels, at ambassador grade.
