As a foreigner living in Malta for over 20 years, I’m now going to decide to prolong my stay in Malta depending on the outcome of this election. If Labour wins, I’m out of here. Simple as that.

A Labour victory probably won’t affect my material circumstances for the short to medium term. It’s just that I cannot fathom how any one in their right mind could vote for Labour given all that has gone on, and living among so many wrong minded people would be too much to take.

Think of it this way. If the election of Donald Trump was insane, and reflected badly on the people of the USA, the re-election of Joseph Muscat will be that times a million. I just would not be able to stay on here.

As a foreigner you always feel out of place, but with a Labour victory it would be like living on an alien planet.
