Keith Schembri’s wife and children are in Russia to celebrate Victory Day

Keith Schembri’s wife, Josette Schembri Vella – who runs an always-empty interiors shop called Loft and a café, both of which would be the perfect vehicles for laundering money – is currently in Russia with their two children to celebrate Victory Day.

They flew out of Malta last Sunday and will return this Sunday. There are conflicting reports as to whether the Prime Minister’s chief of staff is with them or not. I can’t ask him myself because he has barred my calls and I get the ‘call barred’ sound when I ring.

I messaged the government’s communications chief, Kurt Farrugia, who is not averse to calling me at 7am to ask me to remove some pet office girl’s phone number from this website. But he didn’t reply. Clearly, he’s got too much on his plate right now and is looking exceptionally sleep deprived.

I would have liked to ask whether Mrs Schembri and the minor Schembris are official guests of Vladimir Putin’s government, or whether they are being hosted by some no-good with money who bought a passport off them and from whom the PM’s chief of staff was thanked with kickbacks.
