Malta’s government ignores questions from everybody – except those it plants itself

The members of Malta’s government think they can ignore everything and everyone: questions from journalists, requests for information in parliament, the concerns of citizens, invitations to appear before the European Parliament’s anti-money-laundering committee, letters from influential organisations, newspaper articles (except when they wish to sue for libel damages) – it’s disgraceful.

If the far busier and more influential finance ministers of Ireland and Germany can find the time to reply to WeMoveEurope on the highly contentious subject of tax justice, why can’t Malta’s finance minister, Edward Scicluna? He’s in charge of the economy of two islands with a population the size of a small town in Germany.

Then what happens – we get all this tweets going round the world.
