No division between party and government

As though it wasn’t bad enough that the Labour Party called its May Day mass meeting outside the Prime Minister’s Office, where the main door was symbolically open, conveying the message that there is no distinction between the Labour Party and the government it controls, Muscat chose to announce the general election in a party-political context.
This is so shockingly wrong, and a warning of far worse to come. It is the Prime Minister who announces a general election, and not the Labour leader. The Labour leader should not announce a general election at a party meeting. It is the Prime Minister who should do so, either in parliament or at his office.
