A hung parliament and Brexit still to be negotiated
This is one of the best articles I have read about what went wrong for Theresa May in the UK general election.
That might be because it tackles an aspect of the situation in which I’m particularly interested: campaign communication. (I like anything to do with communication; it’s my field.) May’s people assembled the best possible team, including Australia’s Lynton Crosby for messaging and the United States’ Jim Messina, who worked for Barack Obama, and they ended up just two points ahead of Labour when they had started 20 points ahead. Fascinating.
And here’s another one, which is particularly good on the subject of Theresa May’s imagine problem, and how young electors turned up in droves to vote for Corbyn after having failed to vote in last year’s EU referendum and bitterly regretting allowing older people to decide in favour of leaving the European Union.
