Considered normal behaviour in Malta: this is the president of the country’s Far Right political group

This is Alex Pisani, a grocer and confectioner in Valletta’s St Dominic parish, who is president of Malta’s Far Right political group, Għaqda Patrijotti Maltin.

For somebody involved in politics and public life to post that kind of thing is considered normal behaviour in Malta, as normal as the sentiments which drive it.

And then some people like to say that Malta is special. You can say that again. Special in entirely the wrong kind of way, though.

Now Mr Pisani is planning to convert his grocery/confectionery into a weapons shop, as the planning application paper beneath shows. Yes, a weapons shop in the lower reaches of Valletta, on Republic Street.
