I never said you were dealing in drugs, Dr Deliar, but I did find out what you were doing in Tal-Handaq that evening
More Jesuitical attempts at confusing his readers: I never said that Adrian Delia was dealing in drugs. I uploaded the police report, my questions to him and his answer, all verbatim. You couldn’t be fairer than that.
But meanwhile, I have discovered what Dr Delia was doing at Tal-Handaq. I didn’t mention it earlier because it seemed unfair to drag his client into the equation when he wasn’t running a prostitution racket like the other one. But here Dr Delia has made the classic error of a non-politician in failing to understand that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
If he calls a journalist a liar, that journalist – at least, if he or she knows his or her onions – is going to come back at him with more bits of the story that he might have preferred to keep hidden.
Dr Delia was in Tal-Handaq visiting Giuseppe Trapani, a southern Italian meat importer who keeps stores there. He is his lawyer. Mr Trapani had a big dispute with the notorious Frankie Grima, who used to run restaurants and now operates lap-dancing clubs, for money owed to him. The case ended up in court and Mr Trapani obtained a garnishee order for a significant amount against Mr Grima.
