Malta’s standards in public life: state authority chairman shouting “Viva l-Labour” and drinking straight from a bottle of spumante for the camera

This is the executive chairman of the Malta Council for Science and Technology, celebrating the Labour Party’s victory at the general election with friends at his home in Haz-Zebbug, chanting “Viva l-Labour” for the camera, spraying spumante like a 1970s Grand Prix winner (except that they used champagne), and drinking straight from the bottle.
As if that were not bad enough, he uploaded the video himself to his Facebook page, among posts about his agreement-signings and formal meetings on behalf of the state authority he represents and runs.
These are the standards of a third-world country.
