BREAKING/Nationalist Party’s assistant secretary-general is secretly leading the campaign for Adrian Delia

The Nationalist Party’s assistant secretary-general, Jean Pierre Debono – who was elected to parliament for the first time last June along with his wife Kristy Debono who had been a member of parliament already in the previous term – is secretly leading the campaign to have Adrian Delia replace Simon Busuttil as party leader.

Screen-shots sent to this website of current discussions taking place in a ‘secret’ WhatsApp group of Adrian Delia’s campaign aides and “office workers” show Jean Pierre Debono to be orchestrating matters using his own mobile telephone number (data protection rules preclude me from reproducing it).

Mr Debono is doing this along with Julian Micallef (pictured below), an inveterate poker-player and gambler at cards who owns a boutique in Birkirkara, called Nuvole. In the WhatsApp screenshots from the ‘secret’ group, Mr Debono and Mr Micallef are seen directing other participants in the group, whose messages, thinking and choice of words and insults are indistinguishable from those of Labour supporters of a certain kind on Facebook, what messages and pictures to spread on social media.

This website has tried to ring the Nationalist Party’s assistant secretary-general for clarification on his involvement in making sure Adrian Delia is elected, but Mr Debono was not in a position to respond. I have sent him the following questions and will let my readers know if and when he replies.

———–

1. Do you think it appropriate that the Nationalist Party’s assistant secretary-general should be organising a campaign to get any particular candidate elected, let alone a liability like Adrian Delia? Are you not meant to keep your distance and remain impartial?

2. Have you and/or your wife struck a deal with Adrian Delia to cede one of your seats to him in exchange for the deputy leadership or anything else, and are you trying to get him elected for your own personal ambition and to increase your hold on the Nationalist Party?

3. In the general election campaign, were you working to have your party elected or to have it defeated resoundingly so that Simon Busuttil would be forced to step down and be replaced by your man Delia?

4. Do you think it is important for politicians to have integrity, or does it not matter to you? Do you believe that the underhand and disloyal conspiracy you have hatched with Delia to hijack the Opposition party shows integrity or the complete lack of it?

Jean Pierre Debono and Kristy Debono are both members of parliament in the Opposition. He is the Nationalist Party’s assistant secretary-general. Both of them are orchestrating the election of Adrian Delia and are involved, using their own mobile telephone numbers, in a ‘secret’ WhatsApp group of Delia’s campaign aides in which people are instructed on how to spread messages of support for Delia, and insults towards journalists who expose him, and other perceived enemies, on social media.
