Bank of Valletta closed down Adrian Delia’s current accounts earlier this year

The Bank of Valletta closed down Nationalist Party leadership contender Adrian Delia’s current accounts earlier this year. This website is informed that the recommendation for action came from the bank’s wealth management division, but is unable to find out the reason why the accounts were shut down.

Meanwhile, my question to Delia on the matter, sent on 30th August, is still unanswered 11 days later.

Mr Delia, I am informed that earlier this year, the Bank of Valletta closed “some or all” of your accounts. Do you confirm or deny this, and in the case of the former, what explanation can you give for the bank having taken this decision?
