Many of you asked why Delia had the vote today. Here is the answer.

He was given the vote by the Birkirkara Nationalist Party club committee. Each party club is entitled to X number of votes. That party club gave their man one.

The other three contenders were eligible to vote in and of themselves, as a former MP from another era (the proto-fascist, Frank Portelli), an electoral candidate and party official (Alex Perici Calascione) and a member of parliament (Chris Said).

That is the kind of person Delia is: the kind who wangles himself a vote to which he is not strictly entitled, to be able to vote for himself.
