Points in draft resolution:
1) No-fly zone
2) All necessary measures to protect population (not spelled out, but means airstrikes)
3) Sanctions
4) Freezing of assets
5) Kill him.
I have a better one.
Let the Libyans kill him, I hear they’re quite creative when it comes to that.
10 in Favour
0 Against
5 Abstentions
And it’s done.
The resolution was adopted. Thank God. Common sense prevailed.

Indeed God bless them – they are the real champions of democracy.
It’s for a NO-FLY zone not for air strikes as yet.
[Daphne – A no-fly zone begins with air strikes, Frank.]
Goooooooooo to hell, Muammar!
Now Malta should show the world that it is on the side of democracy and give its full support to all military actions.
Come on Prime Minister, don’t be afraid – we are all behind you.
Too little, too late.
If the Gheddafi clan had any decency, concience or dignity left, they ‘d give up, before more innocent blood is shed. What do they think they will achieve in the long term by hanging on? The Libyan people do not want them and neither do their neighbours.
They are chanting in Benghazi “Gaddafi, sabrek sabrek jum il-Gimgha tidhol f’qabrek” almost in Maltese!
Maltese is ‘almost’ Arabic, you mean.
Gaddafi’s days are numbered. We’re coming for you Muammar and we’ll show no mercy.
The United States needs a par idejn sodi. John McCain would have acted sooner and less innocent blood would have been shed.
Guess who will be doing the bulk of the support? The US, as usual. So let’s not forget that.
0800 local time – on the way……….
German sissies.
I think a long time has to pass for it to be appropriate for Germany to give input on military operations.
Keep God out of it…
